If you're looking to buy a mobility scooter in or around Stratford-upon-Avon, you may be wondering which local shops sell them and where you can try one before buying.
Choosing a scooter is an important decision. The right one can give you back a lot of freedom, but the wrong one can be uncomfortable, too big for your home or car, or simply not up to the journeys you want to make. Looking at a few different suppliers, and trying more than one scooter, is a sensible way to make sure you end up with something that really suits you.
We are often asked who else sells mobility scooters locally, so we have put together this guide to mobility scooter shops near Stratford-upon-Avon, in Warwickshire and the surrounding counties.
Where Else Can You Buy Mobility Scooters Near Stratford-upon-Avon?
The businesses below all sell mobility scooters and have a showroom or shop within roughly 30 miles of Stratford-upon-Avon, measured in a straight line. Whether you are looking for mobility scooter shops in Coventry, mobility scooters in Redditch or simply mobility scooter suppliers near you, this list should give you a good starting point.
The details are taken from each business's own website and were checked in October 2026. Opening hours, branches, stock and services change, and not every scooter will be on display at every shop, so it is always worth phoning before you visit.

What Type of Mobility Scooter Do You Need?
Before you start visiting shops, it helps to know the main types. Our guide to the different types of mobility scooters goes into more detail, but in brief:
- Folding scooters fold down in one piece, often in seconds, for travel and storage. They are usually the lightest to carry as a whole, but are typically less comfortable and have a shorter range than larger scooters.
- Transportable or boot scooters come apart into several lighter pieces, so they can go in a car boot. They suit short trips to the shops or days out, and are easier to lift than you might expect because no single piece is very heavy.
- 4 mph pavement scooters (Class 2) are larger and more comfortable, with a better range and suspension. They are designed for use on pavements and are usually stored at home rather than taken in the car.
- 8 mph road scooters (Class 3) can be used on the road as well as on the pavement, where they must be limited to 4 mph. They are the biggest and most comfortable type, with lights and indicators, and must be registered with the DVLA.
The most suitable type depends on who will use it, the journeys you want to make, how comfortable the seat needs to be, whether it has to fit in a car, and where it will be stored and charged. If you are unsure whether a scooter is right for you at all, our article on choosing between a mobility scooter and an electric wheelchair may help.
What Should You Ask Before Buying a Mobility Scooter?
Whichever supplier you speak to, these questions will help you compare like with like:
- Can I try it first? Ask whether a demonstration or assessment is available, in the showroom or at home, and whether the model you are interested in is actually in stock to try.
- Where will it be stored and charged? You will need somewhere dry and secure with a power socket, such as a garage, shed with power or a hallway, and enough space to get on and off safely.
- Will it fit in my car? If you need to transport it, check the boot size and the weight of the heaviest piece, and who will be lifting it.
- Is it comfortable, and is it rated for me? Check the maximum user weight, the seat size and adjustment, the legroom and the suspension.
- What range will I really get? Advertised ranges are usually measured in ideal conditions. Hills, cold weather, heavier users and older batteries all reduce it. Our guide to mobility scooter batteries explains more.
- What does the warranty cover? Ask how long it lasts, whether batteries are included, and who carries out warranty repairs.
- How will it be delivered? Find out whether delivery is included, whether the scooter will be set up for you, and whether someone will show you how to use it safely.
- Who services and repairs it? Ask whether the business has its own engineers, whether they come to you, how quickly they can respond, and how easily replacement parts can be obtained.
- Is there a local engineer? Aftercare is much easier if someone nearby can look at the scooter. If you are comparing mobility scooter servicing in Warwickshire, it is worth asking about call-out areas and charges.
- What is included in the price? Check whether delivery, set-up, the first service, a charger and any accessories are included, or whether they cost extra.
- Do they take part in Motability? If you receive a qualifying mobility allowance, you may be able to lease a scooter through the Motability Scheme, but only through a participating dealer.
Is It Better to Buy a Mobility Scooter Online or From a Local Retailer?
Both options have their place, and the right choice depends on what you need.
Buying online can be convenient and the prices can be competitive. It can work well if you already know exactly which model you want, perhaps because you have used one before, and you are confident about the size, weight and set-up. The limitations are that you usually cannot try the scooter before you buy, and the scooter may arrive boxed for you to assemble and adjust yourself. Repairs and servicing may mean returning the scooter or finding someone else to look at it.
Buying from a local retailer usually means you can see and try different scooters, get practical advice about your journeys, storage and car, and have the scooter set up and demonstrated when it arrives. Having a local business to call can also make aftercare, repairs and servicing more straightforward. Prices may be higher than the cheapest online offers, although some of that difference may reflect delivery, set-up or aftercare that is included in the price.
It is also worth remembering that not every local retailer offers the same services. Some offer home demonstrations and some do not, some have their own engineers, and some take part in Motability while others do not. That is why it is worth asking the questions above wherever you buy. You may also find our articles on how much a mobility scooter costs and common mobility scooter buying mistakes useful.
Finding the Right Scooter for You
There are plenty of mobility scooter suppliers near Stratford-upon-Avon, and each one offers something slightly different. We would encourage you to explore your options, try a few suitable scooters wherever you can, and think about the whole experience, including delivery, set-up, servicing and aftercare, rather than simply choosing the lowest advertised price. The right scooter is the one that fits you, your journeys and your home.
